The symptoms of ovarian cancer can be easily mistaken for other diseases. The only difference is that they don’t go away. They are often ignored, but, paying close attention to them can actually save your life.

Look out for their duration – if the symptoms don’t go away after therapy you need to visit your doctor immediately. Usually, you need to see a doctor if the symptoms don’t go away after a month. Here are a few common symptoms of ovarian cancer:

Bloating

You know what PMS bloating or bloating after overeating looks like. But, bloating can also be a symptom of ovarian cancer. If it doesn’t go away for more than a couple of weeks and medicine doesn’t help, visit your doctor immediately.

Note: bloating is often misdiagnosed as it is related to poor digestion, nutrition, flatulence, constipation and other gastrointestinal problems.

Frequent urination

Urinating more than usually without increasing your water intake may be a sign of ovarian cancer. You need to get your urinary tract and reproductive system checked to confirm the cause.

Note: this symptom is often a sigh of urinary tract infection and your doctor might prescribe a treatment for this condition. Follow the treatment and see your gynecologist if the symptoms don’t clear up after a couple of weeks.
