It includes leafy green veggies, broccoli, root vegetables, herbs and spices and some non-gluten grains such as rice. The alkaline diet also contains 2-4 ounces of grass-fed meat, clean fish and organic poultry a couple of times a week and a great amount of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Gluten is a mixture of proteins found in wheat and some grains which causes inflammation in the body. Eliminating high-gluten grains such as grains, rye, wheat and cereal such as pasta, cake, bread and muffins is a must to prevent further problems. Instead of these grains, consume quinoa, rice, buckwheat, amaranth and millet. Avoid gluten-free products as well as they contain added sugars and processed oils.
Cancer cells use glucose in order to survive, which is why you need to avoid consuming sugars. This includes natural sugars such as agava or honey. Instead of these foods, eat a few figs, dry apricots or fresh pineapple chunks every day.
Professor T. Colin Campbell from the University or Cornell says that dairy is the main culprit for cancer, which is why you need to avoid dairy products to prevent the disease as well as other problems such as inflammation and high acid production.
