She Gave Her Husband 1 Tablespoon Of Coconut Oil Twice A Day For A Month. You Won`t Believe What Happened!!!
The most common diseases in the world are obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The number of cases are increasing rapidly, and medical experts are now saying that we should all be worried, as 15 million people will develop Alzheimer’s by 2050!
Dr. Mary T. Newport is a neonatal practitioner that has been researching scientific literature about Alzheimer’s disease. She discovered that MCT – medium chain triglycerides may be the best cure for this debilitating disease. These triglycerides can be found in coconut oil. Mary’s husband, Steve, was diagnosed with progressive Dementia at the age of 54. According to his MRI, the disease was going to progress and eventually lead to Alzheimer’s. Steve suffered a lot: he experienced memory issues, couldn’t find a spoon or even get a bottle of water out of the fridge. Depression was another problem for him. While researching literature, Mary found out that depression is actually a precursor for Alzheimer’s disease.
Why are MCTs so important?
When there’s insufficient glucose in the blood, the body cells use ketone bodies as fuel. Brain cells need specific kind of fuel to keep themselves alive – glucose or ketone bodies. Sadly, our body doesn’t produce the ketone bodies.
What happens in Alzheimer’s disease?
Due to insulin resistance, some of the brain cells cannot use glucose as a fuel, and start to die off. This process goes on for 10 to 20 years before any symptoms manifest. If the cells manage to find ketone bodies, they can use them as a fuel source and survive. This same problem is present in people suffering from Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis and ALS. The patients suffer from the same problem, but the problem is present in different parts of the brain or spinal cord.
MCTs are metabolized differently than other fats. The liver can convert them to ketone bodies and energy. If medium chain triglycerides are consumed orally, hyperketonemia occurs, meaning that there is an increased level of ketone bodies in the blood and that they could be used as an alternative fuel source for the brain cells.
Dr. Newport says that hyperketonemia increases the cerebral blood flow by 39% and reduces cognitive disorders linked with hypoglycemia in humans. In her study, Dr. Newport discovered that coconut oil contains about 60% medium fatty acids, has no cholesterol and has high amounts of omega-6 fatty acids. MCTs can also be found in breastmilk or palm kernel, and are present in cow and goat milk, although in smaller amounts. Various dairy products contain them as well.
When Steve’s disease progressed, Mary tried the coconut oil treatment on her husband, desperate to save him. She gave Steve two tablespoons of coconut oil daily for a month. The results were fantastic!
After about two weeks of the therapy, Dr. Newport asked Steve to draw a clock, and the improvement was clear. She recommends the coconut oil treatment to everyone suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
