Obesity and overweight can double the risk of developing colon cancer. This has been found in many researches conducted in the university of Newcastle and Leeds. People suffering from lynch syndrome a hereditary genetic disease can increase the possibility of cancer. Half of these patients were diagnosed with cancer, and often this cancer is colon cancer.

A research conducted in 10 years among 937 subjects with obesity in 43 centers in 16 countries have reduced the risk of developing cancer down to zero when people were induced with regular doses of aspirin.  A group of the patients were taking 600 mg aspirin daily for 2 years and the other group were getting placebo.

The data that was received was preliminary and was stated that if the aspirin is being misused it can cause serious health problems like causing ulcers, or bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.
