Onion is great for the organism. It doesn’t matter how you use it, as long as you use it. Row or in a meal, it will not lose its benefits. Chopped, grinded, grated or sliced it doesn’t matter, it will keep the benefits. Even though Indians have used it in their cooking, today onion can be found everywhere in almost all kitchens.

Not everyone knows the benefits from the onions. There are a lot of onion consumers that are not aware of the humble multiple qualities. We can hear and see all around us, and we are bombed with other products for their vitamins and minerals, but rarely who mentions the onion.

Now, I`m going to tell you more about the onions. It`s their time now. They are rich in Vitamin A, B and C. We know pregnant woman need folic acid ( doctors recommendations) but everyone else needs it too. It can be found in the onion as well. As for the minerals go, onions have calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sulfur, chromium and iron.

Onion helps the prevention of arthritis and gout.

  • Antiseptic:

Problems like E- colli and salmonella can be helped with onions.

Onions can help infections like cystitis.

Quercetin, is an antihistamine, found in the onion, can help with allergies and asthma. This antihistamine in the onions are easily absorbed and retained in the circulation.

  • Respiratory diseases:
  • Cold, cough, flu can be treated at home. the best remedy is with onion and its natural oil helping the mucus and preventing further formation. Its excellent with bronchitis, congestion and metabolism infections.
  • Osteoporosis:

Onion is full with calcium and can help maintaining the bone health.  Onion helps in preventing bone loss.

  • Oral health:

Munch onions regularly and keep tooth infections away. You can include it in the salads and kill all the germs in the mouth and maintain good oral health.

  • Diabetes:

Onions with their characteristic chromium brings down the insulin level and improve glucose tolerance.

  • Earache:

The essential oil in the onions can help the earache. Steam or bake the onion, extract the juice and administer the warm juice in the ear.

  • Heat stroke:

If you suffer from heat stroke, you can help yourself or another with onion juice. Raw onion juice mixed with powdered rock sugar. This is used in India, well known like “ misri”. It can also help if you rub the feet with onion juice.
