In the last 70ty years the Marijuana hasn’t been appreciated and has been banned in the USA. But lately it has shown that it can actually help people.

More than 20% war veterans who have returned from Iraq or Afghanistan are suffering from PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder). This disorder can stop people from doing their daily routines. Antidepressants are prescribed for them but they don’t usually help.

The Democrats in the Congress have changed their opinion about the cannabis and want to legalize medical marijuana. Representatives Earl Blumenaues (D-Oregon) and Dana Rohrabacher (R- California) have introduced the Veterans Equal Access Act that can open the VA system by prescribing medical marijuana.

Many studies previously conducted have been focused on the bad side of the use of marijuana instead of the good it can do. Today many researches and studies are being conducted that can show how good it can do for the people, especially those suffering from PTSD.

Cannabis is associated with the reduction of PTSD in some patients and the placebo- controlled study is needed so that the efficiency and the constituents of the cannabis can be proven. This was said by George Greer in the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs.
