Most heart health problems are caused by consuming processed meat such as bacon, frankfurters, mortadella and other similar products. In order to keep your heart healthy, you should avoid processed meat and consume more chicken and turkey.

Pickles are low in calories, but rich in sodium which makes them harmful for your heart. They contain about a third of the daily recommended allowance of sodium, so limit their daily amount.

Canned chicken is easy to prepare and a favorite of millions, but it is full of sodium and bad for your heart.

  1. Canned biscuits

Canned biscuits are full of processed substances – check their label and make sure they don’t contain hydrogenated oils. Check the sodium content as well and have in mind that the daily recommended allowance of sodium is 2300 mg.

  1. Ramen noodles

A pack of Ramen noodles contains 14 gr. of fat and 1580 mg. of sodium.

  1. Frozen pot pies and similar foods

One sweet cake has about 1200-1400 mg. of sodium and 35 gr. of fat, which exceeds the daily limit.

  1. Pizza

This is depressing – all types of pizza have been found to contain large amounts of sodium. We know everyone loves it, but eating pizza frequently may be deadly in the long run.

  1. Espresso

A study has found a link between espresso and high blood pressure, so try to replace it with a cup of green tea.

Foods rich in fiber will control your blood pressure. Eat more beans, peas, vegetable, oatmeal, rice, pasta and bread to feel full for longer and curb your cravings.

Eating vegetables rich in potassium will prevent cardiovascular problems – these vegetables include sweet potatoes, spinach, beans, bananas, oranges and tomatoes.
