If you’re a parent, you know how difficult it can be to remove lice – they are contagious and no matter what you try they to eliminate them, they always survive. Lice are tiny insects which live in the human hair and feed on blood from the scalp. They mostly affect school children and are usually not a life-threatening problem, but sometimes a single bite can cause inflammation on the scalp, which will surely result in irritation and infection.

There are several brand of lice shampoos and products which claim they work, but the results are exactly the opposite. The products are expensive as well, sometimes costing more than $100! Parents try different methods only to discover that they’re ineffective which makes them nervous and anxious to get rid of the little critters. Luckily for you, we have a natural remedy that works!

Here’s how to prepare it:

Ingredients

Lice comb

White vinegar

Listerine mouthwash

A few towels

Shower cap

Instructions

Wash your child’s hair with the mouthwash first, then wrap it with the shower cap and leave it for an hour. Afterwards, remove the cap and wash your child’s hair with white vinegar, covering it with a shower cap for another hour. In the end, remove the cap and wash your child’s hair with a regular shampoo, then comb it with a lice comb.

The strong smell of Listerine will keep the tiny insects away as they cannot stand the scent of peppermint. This remedy is a far better, cheaper and most importantly a natural alternative to the expensive and ineffective lice products.

The treatment has the following advantages over commercial products:

It is healthier and without side-effects;

It provides long-term results (after the treatment, lice are unlikely to appear again);

It’s cheaper;

Just a couple of spritzes of mint water will keep the lice away;

It provides complete protection;

The child’s hair is smooth and shiny, and smells nice as well.
