Phthous stomatitis, or canker sores are a common condition characterized by the repeated formation of benign and non-contagious mouth ulcers (aphthae) in otherwise healthy individuals. They differ from fever blisters which usually appear on the outside of the mouth or the corner of your lips.

Luckily, the unpleasant condition can be treated with a simple natural remedy in a matter of minutes. Put a teaspoon of salt in a glass of water and rinse your mouth with the solution or gargle it in the morning. Warm up some water in the evening, then squeeze a lemon inside it and drink the beverage. When you wake up in the morning, the canker sore should be gone.
