Black Beans And The Benefits
You can use and choose from many beans, but the best ones are the black beans.
They are rich in proteins that can act as antioxidants and can lower the blood pressure removing toxic metals from the system. This has been proven by research made in Mexico`s National School of Biological Sciences in the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN-ENCB).
This research has been awarded with the National Prize in Science and Technology of Food.
Health for the Heart
The research started by grounding dried black beans. After this they isolated and hydrolyzed two of the main properties found in the black beans like: fasolina and lecithin. With the help of computer simulations the proteins were tested. The results were that these two proteins helped removing the heavy metals from the body known as chelating activity. When the proteins were hydrolyzed with pepsin-pancratin the proteins showed antioxidant and antihypertensive activity to the research.
The lead researcher Gloria Davila Ortiz said that with the help of this research they have extracted the essence of the legume and had found carbohydrates, starch, proteins, fats, phenolic compound filled with antioxidant effects. The research has been the start of multiple other researches showing how benefit the black beans can bring the health of the heart. It can also help treating and preventing cardiovascular diseases by attacking the high blood pressure and the oxidative stress.
The black bean known as Jamapa can help lower the glucose, the cholesterol and the triglycerides as was said by Davila Ortiz. The research conducted between the IPN and the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition the diabetics can be helped with the black bean in decreasing the glucose in the blood. There are still other researches conducted about the black beans that can help preventing and treating some other diseases that can affect the blood pressure. The properties act as antioxidants but are still in the research phase and are still not introduced to the market. The researchers hope for great results and amazing effect on people.
The super food- beans
The beans are not expensive and are great for the overall health. They are rich in essential nutrients. By consuming one cooked cup of black beans you digest fibers (59.8 percent of the daily intake), proteins (30.4 percent), iron (20 percent), folate(64 percent), magnesium (30.1 percent), manganese (38 percent), molybdenum (172 percent), phosphorus (24 percent), tryptophan (56.2 percent) and vitamin B1 (28 percent).
The fibers can help reduce the level of cholesterol. Research and clinical tests show that consuming black beans can reduce the level of total and LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides, meanwhile increasing the levels of HDL (good) cholesterol in the system. Other health benefits can be seen like phytonutrients for all parts of the body. The phytonutrients found in the black beans have antioxidant properties and can help the system.
When a study was made by the U.S. Department of Agriculture it was found that the highest amounts of antioxidants are found in the red bean, the red kidney bean and the pinto bean. But when they were compared with the antioxidant found in the black bean all of these beans come to second place. The study made in the Colorado State University Department of Soil and Crop Sciences has found that the black pigments in the black seed produced antioxidant phytonutrients like phenols and anthocyanins. They remove the free radicals from the body, lowering ther risk of chronic diseases. There is a long list of how the beans benefit the body and bring overall health like: lower the risk of diabetes, obesity, degenerative diseases and many types of cancer.
