After Reading This You Will Forget About the Sciatica Pain Forever (VIDEO)
Sciatic pain, or sciatica, is a pain affecting many people which appears and goes away occasionally, and it’s often mistaken for leg cramps or lower back pain. When sciatica strikes, people often stay in bed and take ibuprofen or other drugs which are mostly ineffective. Sciatica is a symptom of pinching or creating pressure on the sciatic nerve, but is not considered a condition itself. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the human body, and runs down each leg from the lower spine all the way down to the feet, supporting your movement, feeling and strength in each leg.
The most common symptoms of sciatica are:
- Sharp and painful cramps or burning sensation in your foot;
- Tingling or numbing sensation in your buttock, leg or foot;
Sciatic pain occurs in only one side of your body, and never in both of your legs.
Herniated and slipped disc can also be the cause of sciatica, but spinal injury and infection, degenerative disc disease, pregnancy, spinal stenosis, isthmic spondylolisthesis and piriformis syndrome can be the cause as well. Although there are conventional sciatica treatments, they only work temporarily, and most steroid injections (a popular sciatic treatment) can cause adverse side-effects. Instead of conventional treatments, you should try some natural remedies which can resolve the problem in only 6 weeks.
Natural remedies against sciatica
Alternating hot or cold compresses on the affected area can relieve the pain and inflammation effectively. The heat compress will relax tense muscles while the cold compress will reduce the swelling around the nerve and numb the pain. For a hot compress, use a steamed towel, and alternate both compresses on the affected area for 15-20 minutes. Repeat the procedure every couple of hours until you feel relief.
Apply some arnica on the affected area to successfully relieve the pain.
Willow bark is a great remedy against sciatica. It is rich in phenolic glycosides and allicin which provide anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. To prepare the remedy, add 50 gr. of bark in a liter of water and leave the mixture to infuse overnight, then boil it for 15 minutes in the morning. Leave it to cool down and drink 3 cups of the tea every day until you feel improvement.
Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent which contains a compound called curcumin that can reduce pain and inflammation. Add a teaspoon of turmeric in a cup of milk, then boil the solution and sweeten it with a little honey. Drink the turmeric milk once or twice a day until you feel relief. However, you should know that turmeric should not be consumed if you’re on blood thinners or diabetes drugs. People with gallstones should avoid it as well.
