Every day, especially in the summer we are surrounded by bugs and other insects. People try everything to get rid of this problem. They are tough to get rid of and they can potentially harm our health.


Here are several remedies which you can try to get rid of those pesky insects from your home:

  1. Peppermint Oil

Bugs don’t like the smell of peppermint. There is a simple way to use it against these insects. Pour peppermint oil into a spray bottle. Spray in the corners of your house lightly with your peppermint oil spray. It will keep the spiders away and it will leave a very pleasant smell.

  1. Vinegar

You can use vinegar for the same purpose. Do the same thing like with the peppermint oil. Spray around into cracks and crevices. The difference will be the smell, but it will evaporate in time.

  1. Baking Soda

Baking soda absorbs moisture from the body of bugs. You can spread some baking soda around the crevices and cracks in your house. After few days you can vacuum the soda and you can place it once again.

  1. Lavender, Rosemary & Eucalyptus

Lavender oil, rosemary and eucalyptus oils are also powerful against bed bugs. Add a few drops of all three oils into a cup of water. Pour it into a spray bottle and then spray onto the bugs and around your sleeping area.

  1. Mint Leaves

Mint leaves will prevent the entry of bugs in your home. Sprinkle crushed mint leaves around the sleeping area or inside the cradleboard of small children. You can also put dried mint leaves packet between your linen closets and mattress. It will keep you safe from the bugs and your clothes and bed will smell minty.

  1. Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper can stop bugs. Sprinkle some of the spice in certain areas. The bugs won`t come near it.

  1. Silica Gel

Grinded silica gel can be applied everywhere in your bedroom. The bugs get stuck in this gel and die.

  1. Vacuum Cleaner

The vacuum can remove the bugs once they die or even once you spot them alive. You should always vacuum the dead bugs after you have applied any of these previous remedies.
